Following the directive from the state government to completely ban single-use plastics from January 2019, many colleges have already taken steps and some are in the process of finding ways to totally banish plastic from the campus, and also advising students to say no to plastic outside college as well.

Plastic Free Campus is an initiative implemented to reduce pollution in the campus. This initiative inspires students to acquire sustainable values within their lives. To ensure the plastic free environment and reduce the toxic impact of it, SRIET encourages students and faculty members to avoid the use of plastic containers or bags, bottles etc.… and increase the use of reusable products.
